Tips for Enjoying Your Adult Geometric Coloring Pages

It’s not hard to start your adult coloring fun. Just grab some colored pencils, markers, or crayons and get started!

What I love about coloring (as an adult) is the ability to tap in to my creative side while using amazing products. The following are some tips to you get started with your geometric illustrations.

Choose Your Favorite Colors

I love to choose colors that typically “don’t go together”. What do I care? The whole point is to stretch the creative mind while having fun.

Don’t be afraid to experiment! Choose colors that bring you joy. I especially like to mix metallics with pastels, or neons with muted tones.

Consider using a color wheel to find complementary color schemes that can make your artwork pop. There’s no right or wrong. It’s all about personal expression and what makes you happy.

Explore Different Mediums

I tend to work on instinct, grabbing different colored penciles, markers, or even watercolors as the mood hits.

Colored pencils are great for blending and shading, but markers provide bold, smooth color. They’re perfect for filling in large areas quickly.

Watercolors can add a soft, dreamy effect and allow for beautiful blending. Don’t hesitate to mix different mediums to create stunning effects and textures.

Take Your Time

Coloring should be a relaxing activity, so enjoy the process without rushing.

Take breaks if needed, and allow yourself to focus on the details and patterns without feeling pressured to finish quickly.

Consider playing some calming music or sipping a cup of tea while you color to enhance the experience.

Mindful coloring can help reduce stress, improve focus, and boost creativity, making it a perfect way to unwind after a busy day.

Frame Your Creations

My father used to piece together intricate puzzles. When they were done, he’s apply some kind of glue or finish that would hold everything together. From there, he framed his work and hung them on the wall.

You can do the same thing with your coloring pages. In fact, it’s a lot easier. No glue needed.

Whether you prefer framing your pieces in simple frames, pinning them to a corkboard, or even laminating them for durability, displaying your artwork can give you a sense of accomplishment.

Consider matching your color themes to your home décor or gifting your finished pieces to friends and family.
